# SPLIT SCREEN 2D PLATFORMER
DEVELOPMENT TIME
48 Hours
• Designed a 2D split-control puzzle platformer where both characters move together and must be managed with precise timing.
• Built the core mechanic around size switching, where one brother grows while the other shrinks to solve spatial challenges.
• Structured levels around the “Built to Scale” jam theme by making scale itself the main puzzle language.
• Focused on obstacle placement that requires players to think ahead before changing size or jumping.
• Used a minimal pixel-art presentation to keep gameplay readable and immediate.
• Game has 2 Worlds - Horizontal and Vertical Layout including Boss level.

• Controlling two characters at the same time initially felt difficult for players
→ Early levels were simplified to help players understand movement rhythm before introducing harder puzzles.
• Size-switching puzzles became unclear in some sections
→ Adjusted obstacle spacing so the purpose of scaling felt more readable.
• Split attention affected timing during jumps
→ Refined level pacing so players could react before both characters reached danger zones.

This project was a strong exercise in designing around one mechanic and building 2D level challenges through scale mechanic. I enjoyed how simple controls could still create thoughtful intense puzzle moments.
