# FIRST PERSON PSYCHOLOGICAL HORROR
DEVELOPMENT TIME
1 Week
• Designed a short first-person psychological horror experience where the player takes a shortcut home that slowly turns into an unsettling journey.
• Built the atmosphere around PS1-style visuals to create discomfort through low-detail space and retro presentation.
• Focused on simple progression using movement, key interaction, and environmental tension.
• Used Weeping Angel mechanic for enemies ( the number gets increased each day).
• Used sound and pacing to slowly shift the player from curiosity to unease.
• Structured the experience to remain short while still delivering a complete narrative turn.

• Maintaining tension in a very short game duration
→ Controlled event pacing so each in-game day that introduces something slightly more unsettling than the previous one.
• Limited jam time affected polish and bug handling
→ Prioritized core progression and atmosphere before secondary details.
• PS1 visuals risked reducing readability in darker sections
→ Balanced darkness with enough contrast so players could still navigate comfortably.

This project helped me understand how short horror experiences can still leave impact when pacing and atmosphere are carefully handled. I especially enjoyed shaping fear through using movie ideas with retro atmosphere.
